Manali at (2050 m) is a resort town nestled in the Himalayan mountains of Himachal near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. It is a major hill station resort set on the foot of the mighty Rohtang Pass. Manali is named after the Sage Manu. The name Manali is regarded as the derived from 'Manu-Alaya' which means 'The Abode of Manu'. Legend has it that Sage Manu stepped off his ark in Manali to recreate human life after a great flood had deluged the world. There are lovely walks and interesting spots near by. It is staging point for a number of treks and sports such as white-water rafting.
Iconic place of Manali is Hadimba Temple. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, who was a character in the epic Mahabharata. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful cedar forest (Dhungri Van Vihar) at the foot of the Himalayas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground, which was worshiped as an image of the deity. Manali is known for its shiny gompas or Buddhist monasteries. At a distance of 3km northwest of Manali is Old Manali, famous for its orchards and old guest houses. Calm and serene surroundings coupled with the sound of Beas river is a very peaceful experience. There is ruined fort here by the name of Manaligarh. There is also the Manu Maharishi Temple, dedicated to sage Manu. Places of interest around Manali are Naggar, Rohtang Pass.
At an altitude of 3979 m (13,050 ft) above sea level, this is another adventure tourist site where it can be cold even on a summer day. It is the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road and provides a wide panoramic view of mountains rising far above clouds, which is truly breath-taking. Close by is a small lake called Dassaur Lake. Beas Kund, the source of river Beas, is also nearby. Beas Kund an igloo-shaped temple, on top has a spring which is the origin of River Beas. If you are able to leave early, before 09:00, you can avoid the traffic rush (found on all other days) and have Rohtang Pass to yourself "probably almost!".
Here the Castle, Roerich House and Art gallery are places to see. Moonlight dinner on the balcony of Hotel Castle restaurant is worth experiencing, with the lovely sight of twinkling lights below in the Beas valley.
Manali features a subtropical highland climate. The weather is predominantly cool during winters and moderately warm during summer. Temperatures typically range from −1°C (30°F) to 31°C (88°F) over the course of a year.
The average temperature in Manali during summer is between 19°C and 28°C (66°F and 82°F), and between −1°C and 10°C (30°F and 50°F) in winter.
The Kullu valley revered for its many village deities as the ‘Land of Gods’. Kullu spread out on the banks of River Beas is a quiet town that attracts travelers, connoisseurs, photographers, Honeymoon makers and honeymooners round the year. As a gateway to the popular destination of Manali, it is a cool escapade for tired souls. Founded as a capital of Kullu in the year 1660, today the sprawling township serves as the administrative headquarter of the valley district. The intricate web of valleys, deep forests, gushing streams and rivers, bountiful orchards and the forbidden heights of the Greater Himalayas for a magnificent backdrop, is a sight to behold. Myths and legends enrich the deeply religious beliefs of a simple people that can be seen during a variety of festivals celebrated in the valley. In October, the quiet town comes to life when the week-long Kullu Dussehra festival is held. A congregation of Devtas – village deities carried on palanquins, grace the occasion to celebrate the victory of good over evil. Kullu got its first motor able access only after Independence. The long centuries of seclusion have however allowed the areas to retain a considerable measure of its traditional charm. Here is the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys - each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other.
The Kullu valley has varied biodiversity, It has some of the rarest of animals like Himalayan tahr, western tragopan, monal and Himalayan brown bear. The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is also located here to protect the flora and fauna of this Himalayan area. This national park supports a diverse set of wildlife and is one of the best destinations for western Himalayan flora and fauna lovers. Home to the rare and endangered Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Brown Bear, Snow Leopard and Blue Sheep, the park is a refuge to Western Tragopan, Monal and other rare birds also. Spanning an area of over 1000 square kilometers with an altitudinal variation from 1300 to over and 6000 meters, alpine pastures and glaciers are a source of awe and inspiration for trekkers, wildlife enthusiasts and birders. The rivers of Parvati, Tirthan and the stream of Jiwa Nallah originate from within the park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there are no roads or paved trails in this carefully conserved natural habitat. This vast wilderness is only for those who love trekking and outdoor camping. The places of interest around Kullu are Manikaran, Naggar, Kasol.
Here is a Shiva temple. According to a legend Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, roming from here, Goddess Parvati lost her Mani (The jewel) in the waters of a stream. Upset over the loss, she asked Shiva to retrieve it. Lord Shiva took out the Mani from the stream and handed over to Goddess Parvati. Thus the name Manikaran is derived from this legend. There is a landmark structure you can't miss is a gurudwara, it is believed that Guru Nanak Devji visited this place. Manikaran is famous for its hot springs.
Kullu has reasonable weather all the year around. The best weather is between October to December and from the beginning of February till the end of April. In February and March temperatures at night can cool off to 10° C so best to bring a warm sweater and socks for the evenings.
January is the coldest month in Kullu, with an average low-temperature of 6°C, and warmest months are May and June, with an average high-temperature of 35°C.

Reach Manali where you will be meeting a representative who will help you get transferred to your pre-booked hotel.
After check-in, get some rest before going out exploring the beautiful city of Manali.
You will first visit the mystical Hadimba Devi Temple, which locals refer to as the heart of Manali and is located amidst the beautiful Deodar trees.
You will then proceed to visit the Manu Temple, Vashisht Temple to feel the spiritual aura.
Surrounded by shops selling handicrafts and carpets, the Tibetan Monastery is a famous sight that you will visit.
In the evening, you will go for a shopping spree and take a walk on the bustling Mall Road.
Return back to the hotel for dinner.

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy a wholesome breakfast after which you will head to the green and misty high mountains of Rohtang Pass.
At Rohtang Pass, you can opt to participate in adventure activities like Skiing, Snow Mobile Ride, Snow Tube Ride at an extra cost.
En route to Rohtang pass, you will pass through the small village of Kothi, Gulaba Viewpoint, Rahala Waterfalls and a shanty town of Marhi with roadside restaurants.
Pose along gleefully with each other as these spots provide the perfect photo opportunity due to the beauty that abounds.
After a scenic ride through high passes, return back to the hotel for a delicious dinner.

Today you will be heading out for your Solang Valley tour which is sometimes also called “Snow Valley” and is a haven for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers.
The valley hosts various winter adventure sports and is admired for its beauty.
This mesmerizing snow valley offers some adventure activities such as snowboarding, paragliding and zorbing to try your hands on.
After a day full of thrill and excitement, return back to the hotel.

Travel to Kullu & Manikaran and Departure | End the Tour With a Bagfull of Lifetime Memories
The day starts early as you will wake up and just after breakfast will start travelling towards the beautiful town of Kullu that is often referred to as “Beautiful Valley of Gods”.
Experience the vast and majestic hills covered in snow that’ll give a jaw-dropping view along with sparkling rivers that flow beside you.
After spending some time in the beautiful Kullu valley creating snowman and rafting through the icy waters you will be heading towards Manikaran.
Manikaran, situated in the beautiful Parvati valley, is an important site for Sikhs and is famous for the Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara and the hot water springs.
Refresh yourself as you take a dip in the hot spring that is believed to have many medicinal benefits and will rejuvenate your body and soul.
You will then proceed to the Bhuntar Bus Stand and pass through the scenic routes cut out from the edges of the mountains.
If there is some time, take a short stopover at Kasol where you can shop for amazing handicrafts.
In the evening, reach Bhuntar from where you can proceed for a safe journey back home with lots of memories.

Routes India reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbances that might occur (i.e. severe weather conditions, political unrests or others).
Any rescheduling/rearrangement of package due to circumstances beyond Thrillophilia's control might invite additional charges for hotels and/or vehicle.
In case a traveler wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveler. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
The extra adventure activities and ropeways/cable cars will be at your own cost and are not included in the tour unless specified exclusively in the inclusions of the product.
